For the Strength of Youth
As recently announced by the First Presidency, beginning the first week of September 2026, the Sunday class meeting schedule will change. In the adjusted schedule, Sunday School, Relief Society, priesthood quorums, and Young Women classes will be held each Sunday, with shorter class periods (25 mins. each). Primary will continue to be held weekly.
Aaronic Priesthood Quorums and Young Women Classes will be 25 mins., begin after a 5-minute transition from Sunday School, and will use the updated For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices, with added supporting material from the For the Strength of Youth magazine.
Please note that young women, young men, parents, and leaders are encouraged to subscribe to the For the Strength of Youth magazine at no cost. (Subscriptions have a limit of one per household; however, if you don’t have youth in your home, feel free to still sign up and if you’d like, provide your household physical copy to a family in your ward with more than one (1) youth in their home.) Additional copies may be purchased at store.ChurchofJesusChrist.org or in retail stores where available.

Gather in Grace
Earlier this year, members throughout the North Logan Stake shared the challenges and questions weighing most heavily on their hearts. Their responses helped shape “Gather in Grace,” a devotional series centered on inspired topics that reflect the real needs of individuals and families in our stake.
Together, we will explore experiences that can feel heavy, isolating, or difficult to reconcile with faith, including marriage and family relationships, parenting, faith journeys, emotional well-being, and strengthening testimony. Each gathering will offer greater understanding, practical support, and hope firmly grounded in our Savior, Jesus Christ.
The series begins Wednesday, September 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the East Building (1650 E. 2600 N.). Following the first devotional, classes will be held on Thursdays: September 17 and 24, and October 1, 15, and 22.

North Logan Stake
As a reminder, beginning the first week of September 2026, the Sunday class meeting schedule will change. In the adjusted schedule, Sunday School, Relief Society, priesthood quorums, and Young Women classes will be held each Sunday, with shorter class periods. Primary will continue to be held weekly.
During the second hour on August 30, 2026, all youth, Primary children who will turn 12 in 2027, their parents, and youth leaders will combine for a fifth-Sunday lesson under the direction of the bishop in each ward to discuss and review the changes. All other adults will also be combined under the direction of the bishop in each ward.
On September 6, the first Sunday of the new schedule, youth and adults will meet in their regular Sunday School classes to view and discuss two videos together. Young Women and Young Men will then attend their class and quorum meetings and use the new curriculum. Adults will meet in Elders Quorum or Relief Society to view and discuss an additional video together. The September 6 classes will be taught by ward leaders.
An Overview of Sunday Schedule Beginning September 2026
- 60 minutes: Sacrament meeting
- 5 minutes: Transition to Sunday School classes and Primary
- Adults and Youth
- 25 minutes: Sunday School
- 5 minutes: Transition to quorum and class meetings
- 25 minutes: Priesthood quorums, Relief Society, and Young Women
- Children
- 55 minutes: Primary
Additional Information and Answers to Questions
Are there any changes to the sacrament meeting schedule?
No, sacrament meeting will continue to be 60 minutes or less. During this meeting, Church members remember Jesus Christ by partaking of the sacrament. Sacrament meeting is an opportunity to reflect on God’s plan for His children and participate in teaching, music, and sharing testimonies about Jesus Christ and His gospel.
Leaders should strive to organize meetings that are uplifting and inspiring. Members and leaders should work together to ensure that everyone has a positive and fulfilling worship experience. (See General Handbook, 29.2.1.)
What is the format for Elders Quorum and Relief Society meetings?
Meetings begin and end with prayer. With the reduced class period, there will no longer be time for a specific counseling topic prior to the lesson. Rather, presidencies should carefully select general conference messages that can be reviewed and discussed in their respective quorums or classes.
What is the format for Aaronic Priesthood and Young Women meetings?
Meetings begin and end with prayer and are conducted by a member of the quorum or class presidency. There will be no combined opening exercises. Gospel instruction is provided by an adult leader, a youth, or a youth assisted by an adult leader.
Starting in September 2026, lessons will focus on truths in the updated For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices, which is available digitally and in print. The updated edition contains 12 chapters, with one chapter designated for study each month.
The For the Strength of Youth magazine will offer additional resources to support each monthly theme. Given the reduced class period, lessons must begin promptly.
What is the format for Primary meetings?
- 5 minutes: Prayer, scripture or article of faith, talk or testimony
- 20 minutes: Singing time
- 5 minutes: Transition to classes
- 25 minutes: Classes with lesson from Come, Follow Me
In wards with many children, Primary leaders may divide children into two groups. One group is in classes while the other group is in singing time. Then the two groups change places.
Beginning in January 2027, class lessons each fast Sunday will be based on new materials found in the 2027 edition of Come, Follow Me—For Home and Church. Until the end of 2026, lessons from Appendix B in Come, Follow Me will continue to be taught on fifth Sundays. (See General Handbook, 12.1.4.)
What is the format for Sunday School classes?
Sunday School classes can strengthen gospel learning at home. Classes open and close with prayer, and teachers lead discussions focused on the scriptures and Come, Follow Me—For Home and Church. These conversations encourage personal and family scripture study while giving members opportunities to share insights, testimonies, and experiences that build faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Given the reduced class period, Sunday School lessons, including those for youth, must begin promptly.
When do we hold teacher council meetings?
Teacher council meetings are held monthly during one of the 25-minute class times on Sunday.
- Relief Society, Young Women, and priesthood quorum teachers and leaders can meet while Sunday School is being held.
- Sunday School teachers can meet while Relief Society, Young Women, and quorum meetings are being held.
- Information about teacher council meetings for Primary teachers can be found in General Handbook, 17.4.
The ward council may organize teacher council meetings for parents to help them improve gospel teaching in the home. Like other teacher council meetings, these are held during one of the 25-minute class times on Sunday. (See General Handbook, 13.5, 17.5.)

North Logan City
As you are aware, our state continues to experience drought conditions and an increasing number of wildfires. Because of these conditions, North Logan City Emergency Manager Sandy Spendlove has expressed concern about the potential for wildfires in our valley this year. To help our community be better prepared, she has provided educational materials on the “Ready, Set, Go Evacuation Plan.”
Attached is a three-page checklist outlining the Family Action Plan portion of the program. In the event of a wildfire or other emergency requiring evacuation, the City will use the “Ready, Set, Go” terminology to communicate instructions and help residents know what actions to take at each stage.
The complete Ready, Set, Go Evacuation Plan includes valuable information on how homeowners can reduce wildfire risk by creating defensible space around their homes, preparing their families and property for a possible evacuation, and knowing what to do if an evacuation order is issued. North Logan City Emergency Communications System
North Logan City has a new system called Finalsite. This system communicates with city residents based on geographic areas. In the event of an emergency Finalsite will use the phone number and email address directly from your utility bill.
If you would like additional phone numbers and email addresses added to Finalsite based on your household, please email mary@northlogancity.gov, and she will get them input.
